Who is SCD?

Although I am better known as Mariana, Sweet Crochet Dreams is my little side hustle that I started in 2019 after crocheting and pattern testing for other designers for a number of years.

I live in Centurion, South Africa with my husband of 28+ years, my son and my son's girlfriend. During the day I am a full time Payroll & Employee Benefits Manager for an aviation company. I've been with the same company for close to 20 years and after studying to become a Chartered Accountant, I ended up in payroll. I love the combination of working with people and numbers.

Since I can only crochet and design afterhours, I don't have much time for other hobbies, but I do love to read and spend time with my family and yarn friends.

I prefer to work with natural yarns such as merino and cotton, but I do understand that this is not accessible to all, so I encourage you to find yarn that is affordable to you when making my patterns.
